ACCOUNTANT

A fun but serious Film production &  TV production company in Beirut is looking to hire an
accountant.

Experience, Skills & Competencies, Knowledge:

– Highly energetic with great attention to details.
– Knowledge in tax deductions and VAT.
– Advanced skills in PIMS accounting or Similar (The company uses PIMS)
– above 1 or 2 years of accounting experience in servicing department (being a plus if in
construction, architecture, IT projects and/or Film & TV production or any short/mid
term projects.)
– Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software. 
– Experience working with temporary projects that follow time frame versus a budget.
– English and/or French required.
– Great attention to detail.
– Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
– Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
– Able to work with tight deadlines and under stress.


Duties and job description:

– Create, process and update periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss
statements, etc. according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
– Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
– Reconcilite and match projected budgets with actual expenses.
– Compile, analyze, update and report financial data to ensure that information will be
accurate and immediately available when needed.
– Analyze data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health.
– Comply with financial policies and regulations.
– Responsible for all accounting entries pertaining to transactions on PIMS, receivables,
collections, general ledger and ensuring that they are identified, classified and posted as
per accounting policies and procedures.
– Classify expenses based on original film production budget Elements.
– Manage the office petty cash.
– Organize and maintain the filing of all documents supporting financial transactions.
– Generate photocopy and scan cheques and save them in the shared folders.
– Assists the HR & Procurement Officer in the preparation of the monthly salaries, and
contract based salary payments.
– Reviews and verifies transactions from different departments on a periodic basis.
– Resolves any discrepancies or clarification for accounting records.

– Compilation and preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial
statements.
– Complete daily bank and cash reconciliations and Follow up on wire transfer requests
etc.
– Support the procurement officer in vendor reconciliations on a monthly basis.
– Assists in year-end book closing by ensuring that all the required information is recorded
and available.
– Implement changes to accounting and reporting processes as recommended by the
Internal Audit, External Audit, and management.
– Manage travel expenses for eligible employees.
– Perform other duties as required.

Hiring is on contractual basis with a fixed term renewable contract.
