OFFICIAL TRAILER

BEHIND THE SCENES

¨Amal´s death Timeline¨ (Chapter 6)

It was a very long day for Maryline Neeman playing “Amal” the maid. The SFX makeup team had to install all the utensils over her body, and make sure they would not fall of, as much as they would need to look real. The accessories were made of light weight polystyrene.

Amal’s Death make up took many hours to set up. Amal had to stay with this SFX makeup for more than 11 hours.

¨Possesed Claire crawling through a wall¨ (Chapter 7)

To create the effect of Claire running away in Chapter 7, and crawling down the house in reverse, and running away, we had to seek the help of Tanja Podzamczer the very talented dancer and contortionist. Tanja spent 15 hours in a green screen studio to create the movement that the main actress Takla Chamoun will do while playing “Claire”.

Tanja had to climb high boxes and walk around the studio set all day in an upside down position.

¨Ensaaf saved from demon by Daoud the blind monk¨ (Chapter 4)

This scene had to be filmed overnight in a 25×12.5 meters swimming pool with up to 4 meters depth. With a construction crane we dropped a boat inside the pool and had 4 lifeguards, 4 professional stunt scuba divers, and 10 people to push barrels inside the water and create the waves.

For the underwater scene, we had to seek the help of Tanja Podsamczer to play the double of “Ensaaf” and Eduardo Fedriani (Stunt & Contortionist trainer) to play the double of the “Dassem the Devil”.

¨The Death of Mounir¨ (Chapter 6)

This scene was also shot overnight, where “Mounir”’s makeup and tests took more than 5 hours. We had to dig a cemetery that is 3 meters deep and seek the help of a stunt double to play the fall of “Nathaly” played by Carole Abboud. we were filming in the mountains at 1000 meters altitude and it was freezing cold (around 1 degree) even though it was in June.

Carole Abboud refused to have all her scenes played by a double and she requested to play most of the scenes herself.

¨The burning of Ibrahim¨ (Chapter 1)

This was the most complicated and dangerous scene in the series. Elie Chritoforides playing “Ibrahim” and Mario Salgado his stunt double had to play the same choreography in the burning stage, while Mario will be burning live on set in his specially fire suit.

We cleared the set and made sure all the material on set was fire resistant, while having the firefighters, first aid and ambulance ready few meters away.

Mario could not to miss any move as this scene can only be shot once and ready to have the fire put down after exactly 12 seconds.

The makeup of the “Ibrahim” burning took 8 hours to be done, and an exact “dummy” copy of fully burnt “Ibrahim” had to be placed on set at the end of the scene. The dummy weight was 50 Kg and of the same height and size and looks of “Ibrahim”.

¨The fall of the professor¨ (Chapter 4)

This scene took 9 hours of day shoot, between the rehearsals of the fall of the professor, the fall itself, and the SFX makeup applied to the actor which took around 4.5 hours to create.

We also had to through a weight of 80 KG of steel painted in green over the car in order to destroy it. It was a very exciting but stressful day specially watching the whole weigh dropping from an upper floor.

We also added more floors in CGI to the building and switched the window from which the professor jumps from to an upper floor that did not exist in real life.

It is worth mentioning that we had a full team of the red cross on set and an ambulance ready.
